Negative space is the opposite — areas of an image that fade into the background and don’t draw the eye. You can take photographs with high amounts of negative space, excessive quantities of positive house, or someplace in between. When I’m out taking photos, do I really think about my topic as a set of black-and-white lines? What I do think about, although, is arranging an excellent structure — which, deep down, has its roots in basic components like lines and shapes.
